01.09.15 New Year’s Revolution
Let’s just clear the air. You have made a resolution and you realize that these things fail (usually within the first week). It’s just like the hype before a movie comes out or the weeks preceding an Apple press conference. It is just you and your resolution. According to a study from the University of Scranton you’re probably not doing too well with it. According to their sample, less than 50% of Americans can hold their resolution for 6 months and only 14% of Americans over 50 accomplish what they set out to do.
Top 5 Resolutions

5 Power Tips for 2015
Have you ever heard the saying “you are a product of your environment”? That couldn’t be more true. A majority of our habits and circumstance are determined by our environment. Think about those people that just don’t quite grasp the idea of optimism (that’s the nicest way I can put it). It seems as if you could be having the best day ever and have all of your energy sucked out by hearing complaints from another person. This is exactly what I’m talking about. Surround yourself with people that want to achieve the same goals and attitude as you!
This situation is very prevalent if you ask me. Most people develop high levels of stress because they are overworked. If they are not overworked, then overstimulated! Technology is all around us and it seems that we can’t escape the clutches of our cell phones and computers. This can be very taxing on our body. So take time and remove yourself from the noisy world to find complete relaxation.
- Regular Sleeping Habits
I know that I could write about organization and its importance for the next 5 years. With our busy lives it can be difficult to fit everything into our day. How can we simplify it? One tip can actually help out and it is very simple to implement. It may sound old school but I always make sure to have a pen and paper handy. The act of writing something down can reinforce it into the brain. Even Sir Richard Branson carries around a notepad with him wherever he goes.
- Organize Yourself
This is something that I started doing as an exercise with my girlfriend. Keep a journal next to your bed and every morning when you wake up pull it out and write down three things that you are thankful for. The fun part is that it will most likely start with material items and soon you will find that what you are truly thankful for are things that you cannot hold in your hands.
- Keep a Gratitude Journal
Let me start off by saying that I love pizza with all of my heart. With that said, I know that it is not good to put into my body 7 days a week/365 days a year! Your body is your temple. What you put into it will ultimately determine what you get out of it. Use the right fuel and help preserve your greatest gift! You wouldn’t put unleaded fuel into a Ferrari, would you?!
- Input = output
This is not to deter you from achieving your goals but to paint the honest truth about holding yourself accountable. No change will come for you unless you practice control.
